Relics recovered from Stranraer Town Station

One of the goods shed cranes is now safely at Dunaskin.

The demolition of the buildings at Stranraer Town Station (which closed to passengers over 40 years ago) is now complete. All track has been left in situ meantime.

At the request of ARPG, the demolishers were able to remove one of the two platform cranes from the goods shed and set it aside for us.

On Monday 8th May the crane was collected by hiab lorry and delivered to Dunaskin, where it will eventually form part of the display planned for the Wagon Repair Shop.

Also recovered were a number of small artefacts and some track materials.
